The hooks going viral in skincare right now
Five October openings, why each one works, and five launch hooks built on them.
What we found
- Lead with fear. It gives cautious buyers a reason to watch without promising a result your product has not proved.
- A reversal works: advice someone dismissed turned out to be useful.
- A concrete destination gives viewers a clear promise.
- A stop-list creates curiosity about which step gets removed.

Five hooks for the launch
1Name the fear before the product
The creator opens with fear and a visible example of peeling skin, so the viewer understands the stakes at once. Borrow the hesitation, not the alarming imagery, and do not imply your serum prevents that reaction. This is the lead pick.
2Make the boring advice worth watching
The opening creates a reversal: advice the creator dismissed became useful. That gives viewers a reason to reconsider something familiar.
3Promise a clear place in the routine
The opener promises a concrete destination. For a launch, make that destination knowing how to use the serum, rather than tolerating a prescription treatment.
4Challenge an assumption about gentle
This opening challenges a habit the viewer may already trust. The tension comes from questioning the whole routine.
5Open with what to stop
The stop-list creates immediate curiosity: viewers want to know which step gets removed. This one is the most directly tied to barrier care. One comment shows the follow-up to answer.
